Solar powered pump

Middle Canyon to Patagonia

The moon and stars were brilliant as I rolled out of my tent at 4:40 am. ADL and I wanted to get an early start to make the 20 miles into Patagonia. The morning was cool, but gave way to a warm day as the sun rose over the mountains. There was a small climb to Camelot Pass, that offered great views of the Rincon mountains. I'm looking forward to the cooler temps in the mountains as today was quite warm.

Most at of our water came from the cattle troughs and pumps as we walked through a lot of grass land. My favorite was a solar powered pump where I had to turn the solar panel toward the sun to operate the pump. It is what you have to do sometimes.

The last 5 miles were rolling hills before decending into Patagonia. Got a nice room at the Stage Coach where the owners that are hiked friendly.
