Pacific Crest Trail Map

Welcome!

According to my official PCT trail permit, this journey begins April 25, 2017... but I'll argue it has already begun. It began in September 2016 after coming off a 4000 mile bicycle trip and realizing I had found myself out there. Rather, I stopped trying to find myself, because I had no choice but to just BE. There is no pretending.. no mask.. no costume to put on everyday, when you're covered in 11 days worth of sweat and dirt, when you go from 95 degrees down to 8, when you push yourself to physical and emotional limits, you have absolutely no choice but to be fully authentic. So, I didn't so much "find myself" as much as myself was simply revealed, and I stopped fighting to hide her, to change her. I realized, I couldn't go back to a "regular" life. Not forever. There had to be more. What was I living my life for, now that I know who I am and who I'm not. So I set out on a new model - work 6 months, to take 6 months off and fuel a mission of contributing to the lives of others. To live my legacy. There will be more on this later, but for now.. this is a journey of 2650 miles toward that end.

In 36 days, I will take my first steps of a 150 day hike on the Pacific Crest Trail.

Between now and then, I'm preparing gear, logistics, and food, wrapping up client engagements, and saying goodbye to family and friends. I'll tell you about all that later.

Vascillating between excited and nervous, while trying to live fully present.

Thank you for walking with me.
