Continental Divide Trail Snow 2019

(The following looks at trail snow, not snow pack)

Summary for April 4th, 2019
The following is a quick look at CDT conditions compared to the last 14 years. This graph covers northbound mile 709 to 977, from Chama Grant Cyn, NM to Silverton, CO. 2018-2019 is the 3rd snowiest year, just a bit behind 2005.

Mile 709-977, Chama Grant Cyn, NM to Silverton, CO

What this graph doesn't show is conditions in the San Pedro Mountains, just north of Cuba, NM. That short section of trail, mile 648 to 670, is showing the most snow in the last 14 years above 7,500 feet elevation. You can view that and the entire trail on the snow graph.

Happy hiking!
