California Fires, Deviation from Normal

Postby postholer » Tue Oct 06, 2020 3:56 pm

So, I got to wondering how bad this year really is and what the trend is. Using data from NIFC I've created a chart of 'deviation from normal'.

This shows the long term trend. After all, who's gonna get their facts from the 'news media'? Righties, lefties, who cares? They all have an agenda and they're all full of crap. This is the best long term information I'm able to gather on the matter of fires in California.

...and here's using the 1971-2020 averages. Seem's some folks think it's deceptive. 1981-2010 is a standard in climatology.
