Water Availability - North Cascades

Postby 57over170 » Wed Jul 22, 2015 10:23 am

We've been tracking the snow melt in the North Cascades and see that snow pack is way down from 30yr average. There's an alert for Section L - a 20 mile stretch with no water - Does anyone have any direct experience of Section L this year and how dry it really is in this last section?

I was on a brief hike north from Harts Pass last week, and the first water north was pretty good at Tamarack Peak. I ran into a number of people who were running up to the border from Harts and they all said water was no problem north of Tamarack Peak. I don't know about the stretch from Rainy Pass to Hart's Pass.
