I am starting a section of the CDT in Glacier on June 28. Anyone know what the snow levels are this year? What would you expect to encounter at the very end of June for this year? Thanks!

It was about average snow year but then a warm spell a couple of weeks ago took the pack way down. I'm sitting in the airport waiting to fly to Montana for a long weekend hiking in the Bob. I will likely be hiking the CDT up along the Chinese Wall. I will repost if actual conditions differ from the picture painted by the snow sensors.

Right now in the Bob, just south of Glacier the snow line is at 5500' on the north face and about 6000' on the south. By the time you get there most or all of it will be gone. I had solid snow across the Chinese Wall but it was incredibly easy, no snowshoes or crampons needed. Have a great trip, it is a drop dead gorgeous area.

Excellent! Thanks for the info and encouragement.
Last summer I hiked the Colorado Trail -- no snow in July -- beautiful and easy going. So many times I said to myself, wow this would be a whole 'nother hike in a 'normal' snow year or June.
