Class of 2014

Here's the spot for all of you aspiring CDT enthusiasts. You're a tough breed, hiking one of the most untamed trails in the country.

Class of 2014

Postby SunnyWalker » Tue Dec 03, 2013 9:41 pm

I am planning on returning to CDT to pick up where I left off this Spring (2014). I will do some overlap and start going north from Snow Lake. Anyone else heading north this Spring?

Does anyone know what the extent of the 2013 fires in the San Juans in Colorado was and how much the CDT was impacted?

I just found this map in answer to my own question about the extent of the fires in southern Colorado (San Juan Mountains, Weminuche Wilderness) Summer 2013. Looks like the CDT skirts around all the fire areas, never impacted. http://inciweb.nwcg.gov/photos/COSJF/20 ... 4-CDT.jpeg

DATA is in! Looking at a 4/20 start date. Should be about perfect with the current low snow levels in NM and southern Colorado. Looking for a ride to Crazy Cook Monument and a little help caching water for the first section as well. If anyone has info on how to obtain these needs or would like to share efforts please let me know. If not, happy trails!
