Class of 2011?

Here's the spot for all of you aspiring CDT enthusiasts. You're a tough breed, hiking one of the most untamed trails in the country.

I'm planning on attempting a CDT SOBO thru hike this summer. I attempted a NOBO last year, but after badly spraining my ankle, I had to be air lifted off a 12K peak in the southern San Juan's. As usual my wife, Hot Chocolate, will be helping with the food restocking etc. this year, so if any of you need help, keep us in mind. Best wishes to all.

I am preparing for a SOBO hike starting mid-June or early July. I am planning to hike solo, but am interested in connecting with other hikers that will start in the north.

NOBO Completion - Chunk 2

Postby Voyageur » Sat Apr 09, 2011 11:53 am

Yup, I intend to complete my CDT hike this summer, the trail permitting. I'll be starting about July 13 at South Pass, WY and heading to Canada! Last year altitude sickness got me just 2 days north of there and was going to run me out of time. Hope to run into old friends Handlebar, Milky and Flippy along with all you new friends. I was there about a week later last summer. With any luck you NOBOs will be in the neighborhood by the middle of July.

"I have to go and see some friends of mine,
some that I don't know,
some who aren't familiar with my name.
It's something deep inside me now.
It's hard to under stand.
It's anyone who'll (walk with me today)."

I am almost ready to make my plane flight for the 14th into Kalispell.
If I make it to the ranger station in Glacier by the afternoon then theoretically I could get permit and be on the trail the 15th.. But most likely I will not actually get to a ranger until the morning of the 15th and that means I start hiking the 16th..
So I am saying.. June 16th
