Western Circle Trail?

Postby CrossCountryEquine » Wed Mar 20, 2013 7:50 pm

I have looked at this map and compared sections of it to Forest Service Maps I have that would cover the northern most part of "The Western Circle" and it is not really matching any through trails on my maps. Does anyone know if this trail is based on any sort of factual network of trails or mostly imaginary? I was considering riding a loop from Utah, catching a ride on the CDT through Wyoming, and then back down to Utah via Idaho in 2014 and came across this map and thought that it may work. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

This trail was sketched out and almost completely hiked by a hiker known as 'Trippinant'. Here's his journal: http://postholer.com/Trippinant

You can also view a google map with trail trace and his daily spot locations:

It's not an official trail, just one that he 'created'. Pretty impressive, really.
