I picked up a "Deuce of Spades" 17 grams back when they were a kickstarter project.

I use a GSI plastic trowel for a couple years. It's blade is narrow and long with a serrated edge. This allows it to penetrate hard ground well. The serrated edge allows me to carve a clean edge circle quickly and lift it out cleanly. Then I can replace it neatly when done and you can barely tell the ground was disturbed. Picked it up at REI for $4.50 three years ago, and would buy again.
