So who is hiking the AT in 2010? There must be more AT hikers than PCT hikers, so let's hear it for the AT class of 2010!

Smoky Hike

Postby ATRookie » Wed Dec 30, 2009 11:10 am

I'm going to be section hiking the Smoky's in September. We're planning on taking a 10 day hike. We've figured that the Smoky Mtn. Park section will take roughly 7 days (71 miles), and we're trying to decide whether or not we should start south of the park for the first 3 days, or start at Fontana Gap and keep going past the park for 3 days. Any advice from any one?
