Denied a beer

Lots of up today. Climbed 2500 feet from low to high, and some of that multiple times. Climbing up Mount Greylock, we ended up in the clouds, with all the roots, rocks, and leaves damp and slick. From the parking at 1 mile from the summit, we saw a lot of day hikers. One group came down in all their warm outdoor gear with hats and gloves, while I was climbing in my sweaty shorts, tee shirt, and headband. The summit was completely socked in. Lots of tourists, the lodge there was a zoo, so we didn't stop for burgers, and they don't sell beer before 4pm. ;-( So we headed on because of the forecast for tonight. As soon as we started down, the sky cleared and the trail was dry, like we had entered a different world. The forecast is for gusts up to 40 mph, so our goal was to be hunkered down in a shelter. We got to the shelter by 4pm, and promptly hung up everything to dry. Thought we would have it ourselves, but just after dark a nice southbounder arrived. Right now the wind is howling outside, we'll see what the storm brings.
