Last Night on the trail

Warm night last night. Did get some rain but the tarp did fine.

Had a 4 mile walk into Neels Gap, where we got some snacks and chilled out a bit on the picnic tables. The whole group was there and it was fun.

Had nice trail the whole day....climbed up Blood Mountain, which had some stairs, and was just in general easy and felt shorter than it looked it in the guidebook. Got some views, but it was foggy much of the day.

Sweet Pea's hip was sore much of the day. The uphills hurt her especially. Beardo rolled his ankle pretty badly as well and had to take it slow...same ankle that he had sprained in August.

The brothers' dad came to one of the road crossings with some good beers. That was some nice trail magic.

Lots of weekenders in the shelter....a tent taking up room, etc... Too bad, as we had hoped to have the place to ourselves on the last night on the trail. Oh, well. Tomorrow, we will rise early and head to Springer...and that will be the end of our journey.
