Post 2 - Joyful

Hello...This is Joy for the first time! I'm so excited about this trip coming up. Excited and a little nervous and wondering what God will do in the next 8 weeks as we prep for the trail and the 4 to 6 months that we'll be on the trail! I'm excited to meet the people who'll be hiking with us! I'm not sure that I am ready for the hiking day after day, but I know that the first few weeks will be training for the rest of the way. It'll be nice to have a break from children. Don't get me wrong, I love them all dearly and will miss them, but, I'm looking forward to a time of quiet and just being with Michael and God and nature. To be able to hear the birds, and see God's beauty will be wonderful! I'm wondering how much wildlife we will actually be able to see! I guess we'll find out soon enough. I just want to thank God for this awesome opportunity that He is enabling Michael and I to have! If you had told me 3 and a half years ago that I would be dreaming of going on a long hiking trip, I may not have believed you. But here I am 3 and a half years later, looking forward to the adventure of a lifetime with the man that I love. Crazy how your dreams and goals can change. Well, I guess this is it for now...can't wait to be on the trail. Well, actually, no that is not true. There is still a lot to be done before we can be on the trail!

DROIDDDDD! Just testing from the phone!

Appalachian Trail Thru Hike 2011

The Appalachian Trail (A.T.) is more than 2,175-mile long footpath stretching through 14 eastern states from Maine to Georgia. Conceived in 1921 and first completed in 1937, it traverses the wild, scenic, wooded, pastoral, and culturally significant lands of the Appalachian Mountains. Learn more:
