Passing by a rock feature called the Guillotine
I hiked late tonight in order to put in a few extra miles. I got to a shelter at about 5pm and was torn between staying or going further. I had hardly seen anybody on the trail today and I was thinking it would be nice to camp with other folks tonight. I decided to hike on to the next shelter even though the thought of it being dark when I got there worried me.
When I arrived at the shelter tonight I was pleased to find four other thru hikers there. The best part was that a trail angel named John or "Angle" had hiked in from the road and was making everyone pancakes and sausage on the the little stove he had with him. I guess my decision to hike further was the right call. I joined in on the eating frenzy and had about 6 pancakes and quite a bit of sausage. What a treat! This saved me from having to set up my stove and cook something for myself. I am going to bed tonight on a full stomach for sure.
Thanks for reading!!
