Wow!! It's been a while since I've been on here, not that anybody has been reading this journal. Anyway, I'll write in it for those of you that have been reading it.
Early on in my hike, I began having trouble with my right leg. Once I stopped for the night, the most awlful pain would set in, to where I couldn't hardly sit down.
I went to the hospital in Pearisburg, and was given an ultra sound. They said I had a cyst behind my knee, and it would have to be removed. I ended my hike and went back to Columbus, OH.
Once in Columbus, I went to the clinic, and the doctor said he wanted me to see a Vascular Specialest. Once there another ultra sound was given and NO Cyst was there. ????
I finally went to a chiropractor, and was shown some various stretches to do. This guy said all I had were some contradicted muscles, that wouldn't relax, so I did the stretches.
Now, I'm ready to hit the trail again.
I think I'll go up to Maine and start south, with hopes of reaching the point where I got off the trail before winter sets in.

The Appalachian Trail (A.T.) is more than 2,175-mile long footpath stretching through 14 eastern states from Maine to Georgia. Conceived in 1921 and first completed in 1937, it traverses the wild, scenic, wooded, pastoral, and culturally significant lands of the Appalachian Mountains. Learn more: www.appalachiantrail.org
