Appalachian Trail Map

2016

Sleep was pretty good last night even if 70 was the low. I camped just out
of sight of the AT. Walking by 6:30 just a mile down the trail at Possum
creek I noticed the temperature was 68, two degrees cooler than on the peak
where I camped.
By n noon the heat gets real bad, especially on the uphill s or in
the open. The trees at least offer some shade from direct sunlight.
I had a great cheeseburger and fries at the Barn Restaurant. A big
glass and a half of iced tea too. I was so stuffed it was hard to walk. The
old orchard and meadows whet open to the direct sun and I slowed to a
crawl.
The creek that I planned to water up at was dry. Luckily there was Trail
Magic at the old one room school house. Ice cold water and drinks. I moved
along with the sky rumbling up a thunderstorm in the brew.
Set up camp same place my brother and I camped last year on our Through
Hike.
Only 8 miles to go tomorrow and I am a 20,000 miller
