In Colossal Cave
The Wonders of Colossal Cave
Taking a zero day to enjoy what Colossal Cave has to offer and arrange logistics for my trail denouement. I decided not to go into Tucson, get re-supplied, then come back out to the trail north of here, which was officially closed (although the trail was finished, Saguaro National Park was not letting anyone use the trail until the official opening date of April 1) and then get back home by April 1st. Although AZT thru hikers had made it through the new section of trail according to reports on the web, I had met some thru hikers who road walked from Colossal Cave to avoid the closure, not wanting the stress of dealing with a ranger encounter. So I decided to go into Tucson and cut my trip short and finish the AZT next spring. I have to get ready for a back pack trip to Scotland in April.
