The idea of walking the CWT
In 1974 Richard and I hiked the Pennine Way in Northern England. Since then we have kept in contact and visited each other either in Calgary, Canada where I lived or in Ayr, Scotland where he lives. In early 2012 Richard suggested hiking the Cape Wrath Trail and when he and his family came to Calgary in July 2012 he brought a coffee table book about the trail. He was still working at that time but the idea was sown that we should hike this route sometime.
