Colorado Trail Map

TO Breckenridge

I get up and head down that rocky path down a lovely valley where the Swan is. I should have kept on, but would have only gotten wetter. I got a little confused at this section the book did not make sense (it was right across the road, but I missed it) So, down the road the lovely ranger, Ashley, thought she was helping me and brought me back to where I had been. Hey I have been here, gotta go back, I ask a couple of hikers..yep right across the road. Then as far as I am concerned the climb..it is only around 1500 feet, but it feels worse. My feet hurt and I have not eaten all day..not hungry. Finally the top!!! Now down...yikes bikers wanting to run you over. The rocks again. I kept going down and down to around 9500 feet then I ran into Monty and Robert at the last watering hole and mile 27.8. Good thing I ran into them according to the book there was only one fork, but I found two but Monty lead me straight. I ran into a group of ladies that somehow got passed me they asked me to stay for the night, but I had Breckenridge on my mind. Nope heading own. Finally Breck is in site..yeah I made it. I got off the trail and got on the bus to The Fireside Inn. Yikes a shower..too tired to go out for a meal. But all the folks there feed me..yeah. Charles and Mirjam were there..Nancy too. We took a picture Lovely folks! I met Deb Nancy's friend. I meet a Carrie part of a couple from Taipai working on the CDT her husbands Triple Crown. She gave me lots of interesting tips for thru hiking. But my feet ache I am going home to figure out how to do this better. Janae is going to come and get me tomorrow after work. I really loved this, hated being alone though. I think if I had a partner I could have rode the feet pain. All the rest moved on. I got a message today (7/30) from Nancy she is near Mt Massive..wow
