Stomach still upset as I started Day 4. This is really getting old. We had
a 1300' climb right out of the bat. 4.3 miles later, we hit the meadow at
Brookside-McCurdy trail at 8:30. Nancy had long since passed us earlier.
With the first steady bought of sunshine, she was drying out her tent. We
did the same.
After an hour, me & Andrew started hiking the 6-M long meadow. Sometimes it
was on solid ground. Sometimes marshy. Andrew joined ahead of me. I
continued to have stomach issues along the way. I'd never had such a bought
of stomach problems in all my backpacking experiences.
At the end of the meadow, I caught to Andrew. He was waiting do me. We
began a nice long descent. At the Long Gulch TH, we were able to treat some
water. We then began a pleasant traverse of the mountain. Not gaining or
losing much elevation.
We reached a campsite next to water. Our choices were that one or one 2.2m
further. Basically, that meant a 12m or a 10m day to Kenosha Pass. We also
guessed that Nancy might me at that site. We opted to keep going. We hit
the next site at 3;40. Nancy was there. She had the only descent site. We
grabbed what we could.
I cooked some Raiman noodles for supper. I could barely eat them. This was
part of my previous night's meal.
This evening as well as the previous evening, I has cell coverage
(Verizon). I spoke to my wife about my stomach issues. I told her that i
may have to bail on Breckenridge if my stomach didn't straighten out.
Almost there, just around the corner.
