Everything starts with a dream
When completing the PCT in 2012 I thought that's it. No further long distance travels in the US. But instead continuing my section hikes of the E1, E6 and E9 in my home continent, which is Europe. So I spent about 4 weeks in Sweden hiking parts of E1. While being out there and thereafter while reading some journals of 2013 CDT thruhikers the dream became more realistic by the day. Eventually I said it's now or never. So finally just before Xmas I booked my flight to El Paso, TX. Now I am moving from dream to reality. My gear is almost complete. I have maps and town guides. I have a plan which needs a lot more refining. And I have a flight date back home from Calgary. This time I have to be home before my wifes birthday instead of singing a song when getting up at the former weather station on the PCT. And I still have to work off every item on my honey do list.
