6/22/2014Walked thru Hopewell campground. There was a waiting line for the outhouse! Got water, ate breakfast and hiked thru the thickest catapillars yet. They are everywhere. Makes it hard to take breaks. Seriously, it's like the ground is alive! And they cover the surface of any water source. I keep flicking them off my pantlegs and in order to take a break, I put my socks over the cuffs, pull my buff over my head and scrunch up the waist of my shirt. Just to keep them on the outside! Camped at lower Lagunitas Lake. Should be out of New Mexico tomorrow!
