Leave Leadore

Mark Trail made a bacon and eggs breakfast at Sam's before our departure. We load into Sam's trustworthy and much loved 250,000 miles plus Ford pick up and head for Bannock Pass. It is an absolutely beautiful day. Only a few small clouds dot the deep blue sky.
It's always interesting to me to actually see what the trail looks like. I had contemplated the way when waiting at the Pass earlier for Mark and Flop. This section is well marked and trail easily discernible. We leave about 0900.
En route we meet Otter, who started southbound from Glacier Park. He had bee hiking with a partner until he made it to Lemhi Pass and now hikers alone. He impressed me as a knowledgeable, competent and confident hiker.
This is my first actual hiking stint with the new pack. It will take some getting used to so strap adjustments and cinching continue throughout the day.
Flop picks up water for me at our last water stop. We cook dinner there on the trail and hike three more miles to a camp site.
