Final Countdown

Pressure is building to get things done. Almost all equipment is dialed in. My resupply plan is in place, now just a matter of packing up roughly 120 meals. Plus, I need to make sure that routine things at home are addressed (I'm sure the IRS is unsympathetic to the "I was backpacking" excuse for missing estimated tax payments.)

It turns out it is a big deal to ship Esbit. UPS says it is a hazardous materieal and cannot ship it unless from a registered shipper. Kinda crazy if you ask me. However, since this is a convenience more than a necessity, I'll adjust.

Nice to see the snow levels receding. That is good news for the start, but I have a hunch this might be a long, hot summer.

Looking forward to boarding Amtrak on Sunday and beginning this adventure. Looks like a few others are on the southbound trail already which is good so the hungry bears are satisfied before I start.
