Day-late - Continental Divide Trail Journal - 2021

Getting Ready

Got all my gear ready and have a resupply plan pretty much all set. I'll be mostly resuppling as I go but I know pretty much where I'll be shipping food to along the trail. I have my tickets bought and will be on the trail on the 1st or 2nd of July. I made camping reservations for Glacier but they are pretty messed up. I figure I'll straighten them up when I get there as when I put the info in the sytem I told them I'd take anything that got me through the park. I ended up with one campsite a week later then I asked for. I'm thinking whomever did the reservation either just didn't care about getting anything close or filled it in so I would have a reservation number that I could update when I got there. I'm going with the second option as that works better for me and as I am heading there either way becasue I have an non refundable ticket.

I have pretty much decided I am just going to hike the whole trail unless some reason stops me from doing so. I am kind of looking forward to seeing the southern 2/3's of the trail from the other direction and later in the year.

Now I'm just waiting for the snow to melt. I am attempting to get in a little better shape but I will not be able to do much if any hiking - which is the training I really need. I suspect the feet will not be too tough at the start of the trip. Or the lungs and legs for that matter but I'll attempt not to overdo it at the start.
