Food

Most of the food packaged...

After making a couple more stops at the stores, and re-packaging the food into sandwich and snack size ziplocks, most of the food is ready to go, I did run out of lunch food, so only the last two resupply boxes need to filled with lunch food. Dinners are all complete.
I made a few more tweaks to the schedule. The good news was the majority of the work was done since I re-used the schedule from 2019, in reverse order of course. I changed a couple of the stops, and started calling places to make sure they still took hiker packages.

It looks like 24 resupplies, and a little over 5 months to complete the thru hike. One thing that will be different is that instead of starting at the South end about 2 months before the Summer Equinox, I'm starting only weeks before the Equinox, with rather long days, being so far North, and for the next 5 months chasing Sunlight, into November, as the days get shorter and shorter. This will be different, its always a race to finish before Winter, as all my other thru hikes were North Bound. I suppose there is still a need to finish before it gets to late into the Fall, and risk early snow storms and the like. But there will be no or little snow to contend with in Colorado, and I am thinking not such a hot Summer, except perhaps for Wyoming, at the lower elevations.
I am wondering what this Country will look like after I return in November. Most people probably can see problems in the supply lines, and prices rising. This may be a very different country when I return from the Trail. I guess the old adage should be mentioned here. Hope for the Best, and plan for the worst.
