Florida Trail Map

From Campsite to Hwy 200

I finally got back out on the trail after months of delay and paid the price for my neglect. My body held, which is a miracle, but oh brother, the spiders everywhere, every time a try hung over the trail just a smidge there was a web of at least one banana spider if not several. Fortunately early in the season they are small and not so freaky but it does make for a slow go when your having to stop every 10-20 ft to knock down a web. One thing its not late in the season for is the biting flies, everywhere and bad. Of course, in my mind, its only six miles, I don't need insect repellant. Ha, learned my lesson again for the one thousandth time. Then the rain came, inconvenience for sure but all in all a nice refreshing rain. This began at about 1.5 miles in and rained until about the 4 mile mark of my round trip. But then it ceased and the walk back was on the hardened cross seminole trail rather than the dirt path of the Florida trail so no spiders. The Gods must have taken pity on me during my walk, as soon as I sat back down in the care the heavens opened up, monsoon type rain would have been difficult to hike in to say the least. All in all, a fun 3 hours, can't wait for the no spider season to return :-)
