Lower boulder creek

The beginning

Started walking at 1412
In tent trying to be as quiet as possible so as not to disturb the covey of quail that has arrived to roost near my tent.
Arrived at the maricopa station at 650. Dad picked me up me we want for breakfast and visited the historic mining town of goldfield which is half historical half tourist trap but still fun in a cheesy kind of way. I did learn that the Superstition Mountains were so named by settlers due to the reluctance of the Pima Indians to journey into them.
I started hiking in the afternoon; many day hikers were on trail and even groups of backpackers in east and west boulder canyons. First water canyon had running water through much of the canyon and there was also flowing water crossing the trail of west boulder canyon. East boulder canyon was lush (for the desert) and there was tons of running water and pools deep enough to dip in which felt great after being stuck on the train. I even saw a small green frog! Jojoba is blooming and so are paintbrush and small purple lily plants.
Quote of the day(per a friendly dayhiking woman):"you are out here by yourself! You are a better man than me."
