Getting ready
I am pre-packing my food--a change for me. I decided I was tired of spending trail zero days food packing instead of relaxing. Got a huge amount of maps, downloaded POIs, waypoints and tracks to my GPS. Set up home plant watering and yard work. Went out for two hours on a steep local trail with a fully loaded pack--no problem (knock on wood). I look forward to spring in the desert and sky islands of the SW. I finished the Arizona Trail last year and have heard the GET will have more water sources--I'm looking forward to that.
