Grand Enchantment Trail Map

2014

I've got a good plan for 2014. Finish work March 28. Fly to Phoenix March 31. Hike the 700 mile Grand Enchantment Trail. Finish in Albuquerque around mid-May. Have my touring bicylcle mailed to me. Cycle from Albuquerque over to the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route. Ride about 2,000 miles to Glacier National Park. Mail my bicycle home. Starting around mid-July hike the 800 miles Great Divide Trail from Glacier National Park to Kakwa Provincial Park in the Northern Rockies. Finish around September 1. Spend a couple weeks with Family. Fly to Israel and hike the 650 mile Israel National Trail. About 6 weeks of hiking, maybe another week of sightseeing and maybe a week sightseeing in Jordan. Fly home in time for Thanksgiving.

Grand Enchantment Trail

The Grand Enchantment Trail is a 730-mile wilderness walking route across the Southwest U.S., connecting mountains, deserts, canyons, and places of cultural and historic interest. Beginning in the Sonoran desert near Phoenix Arizona, the route meanders eastward, crossing unique and diverse Sky Island mountain ranges, deep and water-blessed desert canyons, the pine-studded Continental Divide, and toward the southernmost Rocky Mountains, where it descends dramatically to the outskirts of Albuquerque New Mexico at its distant terminus.
