Activity: planning
We are planning for our next big trip. This time we will be on mountain bikes riding the Great Divide Trail. We have purchased Trek 1120 bikes made specifically for bikepacking. Our plan is to start August 12 in Eureka, Montana near the Canadian border and hopefully ride to the Mexican border, a total of 2506 miles. We will not be riding the Canadian portion of the trail this year due to COVID restrictions. Stay tuned to this location for updates.

The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (aka GDMBR) was created by the Adventure Cycling Association. At 2,711 miles, it's the longest mapped and published off-pavement bike route in the world. The route is generally ridden north to south, crossing the Continental Divide a total of 30 times.
