Change of Plans
I haven't been able to talk anyone into joining me even for a segment this year so I've decided to join a group of 6 doing the JMT starting July 16th from Mono Meadows in Yosemite. I saw a posting for this group on the Yahoo groups forum for the John Muir Trail. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/johnmuirtrail/. This is an awesome site to get imformation regarding the JMT from. Roleigh, the moderator of the forum is leading this trip. This will be his 3rd or 4th JMT hike. The group is comprised of experienced hikers from across the US. My wife is exited that I will be with a group and not going solo as it was starting to look like using the permit that I have. I think the overall itinerary is afew days longer than I would have planned for myself but better that than a killer pace like last year. More time for photography ...
