Change of Entry Point
We made the call today to the Yosemite Permit Station. Looks like we will head to the Valley Floor of Yosemite Monday, August 11, 2014 so we can get in line at 5am Tuesday morning, August 12, to try and obtain a new walk-in permit starting at Happy Isles. This will allow us to say we completed the trail from Start to finish. Our current permit is from Lyell Headwaters, which when we submitted the application back in February was the entry point we were given. It's a big chance to take.. there is a limited quota for daily entry at Happy Isle. One of our best freinds, Crystal has agreed to enjoy the ride into Yosemite with us. We are looking forward to her company. One thnig for sure it is a beautiful drive from Mammoth to Yosemite Valley. If the trail is full, we will take the Yosemite Bus back to Tuolumne Meadows and start as originally planned.
