Day 17-Wright Creek

From this point on Bobby would be hiking without Diane - wisdom would take her back to Mammoth to give her ankle a rest. She would meet us at Whitney Portal in a few days.

Had a great breakfast compliments of the Mt. Williamson Motel...another great perk of staying there. Strider took Diane, myself and two others, Randy and Don to the trailhead. Diane would stay behind and head back to Mammoth. Randy, Don and I decided we would all try to stick together or at least meet up on the trail. Bobby headed over to the camp host at Onion Valley to give James a six pack of beer to thank him again for arranging a camp spot for us a few days back. Don and Randy headed up the trail. I Finally started the trail around 9:20 and got to Kearsage Pass around 12:00. The trail is fairly easy with moderate switchbacks. Actually one of the easiest passes to get back to the JMT trail. I finally caught up with Randy and Don around BullFrog Lake. Lunch was at the junction of Cedar Grove and the JMT which was about 8 miles into the hike. The trail today was fairly easy with not much of an acent or decent. We ended up camping about 1/4 mile below Center Basin Creek. This put us about 4-4.5 miles before going over Forester Pass tomorrow. Still no bear sighting this entire trip, but lost of deer.
