"Why Me?"

With just under two weeks before starting my hike with “Quahog”, I’m experiencing some excruciating pain on the left side of my neck and shoulder.

When I attempted to do the Sheltowee Trace back in May of this year, I became dehydrated and experienced Heat Exhaustion after covering a 10 to 12 mile section with no water anywhere to be filtered.

Three days after returning home from that Failed Attempted, I had to go to the Emergency Room with severe muscle cramps on both sides of my neck. I had excruciating muscle spasms sending waves of pain through out my whole body every time I moved my head.

Now with just under two weeks before starting this trail, the muscle group on my left side neck and shoulder area has some major sensitivity issues.

I have a doctor’s appointment August 2nd, so hopefully he can do something about this problem so I can go ahead with my hike. The way it feels right now, I don’t think I would be able to carry my pack without being in major pain.

My flight plans have been taken care of as well as my shuttle ride from Albany, N.Y. over to Williamstown, MA.

I’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
