Oregon Desert Trail Map

Towns

The trail resupplies on the ODT will be in small, small towns. They are, in order: Christmas Valley, Paisley, Plush, Frenchglen, Fields, Denio, McDermit, and Rome. Most of them have very little in the way of food. That being said, I'm going to try to get by on what I find in them. I've done it before, on the PCT, CDT, and PNT. Sometimes you find great supplies, sometimes you end up eating a lot of graham crackers. I like the challenge. The only drops I have on this hike are a pair of shoes sent to Christmas Valley, because 800 miles is a little long for one pair, and Frenchglen. I was going to send maps to FG anyway; there are a TON of maps, considering how short the trail is. Shane visited all the towns on the trail and took pictures, so I know for sure that Frenchglen would have been a ROUGH resupply. Mostly cans and such. So, I'm going to throw some food in the box, too, and supplement with what they have. I hate the whole routine of trying to get to a PO before it closes, and watching out for weekends. I also will probably only have to hitch once, to McDermit. I am going to skip the wide swing to the east around Christmas Valley and just walk through and out the other side.
