Horse Ridge
At the base of zen mntn
Scenic cross country over Horse Ridge--I could see Mt Bachelor and the 3 Sisters. Saw a horned toad. Camping in the sage at the base of Pine Mnt. Can't seem to warm up with the cold wind and intermittent cloud cover. Saw a western meadowlark near Horse Ridge and a horned toad. Weirdly, got two blisters--haven't goten blisters in years. My feet must be getting larger again. Squeezed the tent into some sagebrush before private property at the base of Pine Mountain. The water cache at the campground on Pine Mountain is only 9.5 miles from reliable water at Sand Spring.I got in touch with Jefferey Olson who was on the trail for 9 days and he said no troughs had water. Mean Rock Well had water. We'll see. I am sending a water report to Renee Patrick from the Oregon Natural Desert Association.
