Scots Pine Forest

Inverness Castle and the end of the Way

Kiltman jetted ahead for 2 hours and I walked alone on the mostly flat to downhill trail into the town of Inverness. We followed some historic old stone walls, with blooming yellow gorse and sun coming out. Through the town the trail was well marked. We continued on the trail through the city park and finally ended at the final interpretive plaque at Inverness Castle. it was strange walking with a backpack through the middle of a town still on the trail.

Our B and B was only a 5 minute walk from the trails end, facing the River Ness and across from the Castle. It was a fitting end to this trail that was full of culture and history.
