The weather starts to clear up and I took the chance to do another day hike. Starting in Buochs, the trail went uphill to avoid the busy area between Buochs and Stans. This area has been strict Catholic for centuries and one can see it. One hikes just from one chapel ore impressive church to the next. I have counted 3 churches and 11 chapels on only 18 km. At one of the chapels, there was a trail sign for Stans and followed it. It went always uphill, and could see Stans down in the valley, moving further and further away. Finally I decided that this sign must be devils work and returned just to find another correct sign. Than it was easy to hike to Stans, where I visited the church, lighted a candle and prayed to find my path without too much trouble.
The trail went up again through meadows. Even if it was Sunday, the farmers mowed grass like hell. The outlook of 3 days in a row without rain is just too tempting. This area is typical cow country. I met some other hikers, but no other pilgrims. I passed an outstanding stack of wood, looking like a small village with church, the "windows" with curtains and flower decorated. As I went on, I got some good views on Kerns, today's destination.
From Kerns, I took bus and train to Lucerne, where I met Mary, the girlfriend of one of my nephews. I have not seen her since Miss Sunshine's funeral. We spent a nice evening together, all lot of chatting and good food. Finally it was time for me to return home.

Other Trail is located off the beaten path, somewhere between the soles of your feet and your imagination.
