My beloved Miss Sunshine passed away two weeks ago. She got her diagnosis of cancer almost three years ago, just when we returned from the PCT. A long fight started, but no success. I am burnt out, emotionally and physically. To find a way to get back to my feet, I decided to hike the Camino de Santiago, a spiritual pilgrims trail for centuries.
The Camino(s) de Santiago is a huge trail network in Europe. Wherever you are, there is no camino far from you (see trail map). I decided to do it as the pilgrim did all the time: I will start just from the front door of my home. The trail length to Santioago is about 2600 km (1600 miles). Because I have to take care for my home and garden and also work part time, I will not be able to hike the trail without break. I will start with short one day hikes and than start to improve the length of the daily hikes switch to longer hiking periods. Hopefully I will be fully recovered by the end of the trip.

Other Trail is located off the beaten path, somewhere between the soles of your feet and your imagination.
