We did it

Keating Camino 2013

Day 15
Friday, October 11th
Monte do Gozo to Santiago de Compostela - 4.7 kms.

Got up just before 7 a.m.and out the door around 7:30 a.m. The moon was still in the night sky and we also saw a sky full of stars. First time in a long time that we needed flashlights to see where we were walking. We made it to the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela by 9 a.m. Took lots of pictures. All four of us were quite emotional, especially when we went to the pilgrim's office to get our Camino certificate. It was all in Latin and they even wrote Jennie in Latin on my certificate.

Afterwards we went out to celebrate and had a real breakfast of bacon and eggs and TWO cafe con leches's for each one of us. No more bocodillo's for us!

Gerry and I calculated that we walked 240 kms or an average of 17 kms per day of our 14/15 days of walking.

We did it!!!

Our day in Santiago has been incredible. A real moving experience for bus both. We attended two masses. One was the pilgrim's mass and the second when the "sensor" was lit and "flew" from side to side.

Having internet trouble and no time to write. Have to sign off now.
