In the Cheep seats - and loving it

Pleasant night. Got up and headed to te second Ghost Town - Granite,=. It wasn't too far awa but never made it there. Got within about 2 miles and I desided to turn around rather than venture forward as my little toyota has very low clearance and the road did not. It was one of those situation where I probably could have made it but if I did end up stuck I would know it was my own damn fault fr being stupid enough to continue on. It was not 4 wD required but definately somme clelarance as the road as rutted and had some good sized rocks. It was the first time I actually shifted into low gear on the trip.So with that out of the way I stopped at the local grocery store for ice and beer - as I had run ut of both. I picked up a pack of Jermima Johnson IPA. I always liked Jerimia Johnson so this was a no brainer - it is good.Started heading east and just at noon time I was passing Three Forks so we stopped for lunch at the start of the Missouri. It was nice seeing it again and this time it was much much warmer and there were a fair number of people around. Continued heading east and b early afternoon we hit Columbus MT. The have free camping on the side of the Yellowstone River and we stopped to check it out and decided to stay. The Yellowstone has a strong current - i'd sa at least 8 knots here. The campground is filled with a slightly more eclectic group than the standard campground as it is free. More tents, popups, and busses than super expensive RV's. We are less then 2 hours from our next destination, assumng nothing pops up in between. Stopped at a couple of historical points on the way, I think I've hit about 2/3's of them that I have passed in the last couple of weeks an Montana has a ton of these. Man are very local but some are more US history. Well I am towards the east end of Montana and probably have one more Montana day until we hit South Dakota. It sprinkled a bit late this afternoon so I guess it is welcom back to Montana east of the Rockies as it seems to rain every afternoon or evening.
