Nature's Art
Tired, tired, tired
We got up late-ish today, which was nice. We did some more climbing - around Mt. Jenkins and up into the Jenkins-Owens saddle. We were both really tired for some reason, so we went pretty slowly. We reached our first water source of the day after a long descent, shorter ascent and secondary descent. This water, Spanish Needles Creek, was sort of flowing...a nice change from earlier stagnant springs. Our slow pace meant we didn't get there for lunch 'til nearly 2pm. We were totally exhausted and took a long break by the creek. Around 5pm, we started up again. We climbed 5 miles or so up to a ridgeline, then traversed for another 3 miles to a saddle. We got into camp just as the sun was setting. Another 24 mile day under our belts!
