Bad Burn Area from 2002

Brrrrrr

What a strange day. Dave and I leave my house after a large oatmeal and bagel breakfast and a hug from mom.

I am a little downcast because my good friends Don amd Jeannie are moving to Northern California in a couple of days. It doesn't look like I will see them again before they go. Goodbye and good luck!

Dave and I hiked back to the trail and then started north on the PCT. It was 35 degrees when we started, and the wind was howling at about 35 too. We made it up to Chihuahua Valley road and got a quart of water from the cache there. Thank you Dick Fernandez for this cache.

It just continued to get windier and colder as the dat wore on. In fact by two in the afternoon, we started getting light snow flurries. We were hurrying so fast to make Tule Spring, we missed a new turn in the trail and got "misplaced". There is nothing that pisses me off more than having to do extra miles because of a stupid mistake.

Finally made it to camp, and rewarded myself with a double dinner. Oh yeah!

Very nice campsite. The water tank has a spigot with a shower attached to it. Nope, no shower this evening, it is just to cold. Probably going to be in the 20's tonight, so I am going to wrap this up and hit the hay. Murph
