Pleasant Mountain Hiking
Jason:
We spent most of the day hanging out at Nature's Inn prepping for the trail, occasionally venturing out to eat, mail packages, or buy groceries. One or our side trips was to the Donut & Bait shop where we grabbed ourselves some donuts and ice cream. We skipped the bait, or at least I think we did. I suppose some could've gotten mixed in with our treats.
At 5pm one of the owners of the inn gave us a ride back to the trail and we hiked an easy 6 miles through pine forest. The trail crossed unusual rock slides a few times made up of fist-sized pink rocks. It gave the impression of crossing a pink waterfall. The sporadic views of the desert below and the salt flats of Baldwin Lake were pretty in the evening sun as well.
The terrain here is especially easy with only small ups and downs and a cushy path of pine needles to spring you on your way. Even tho we got a much later start than we were hoping, we should have a big day tomorrow.
Angie:
It was nice to hang out with some other hikers at Nature's Inn for a couple of hours before taking off for the night.?? The owners are both terrific people and really went out of their way to help the hiker crowd.?? Did I already mention the spa tub??? :-)
The miles flew by tonight because of the very nice, nearly flat trail.?? Awww....much enjoyment with a camp underneath some big pines.
