East Fork Wolf Creek

Woke up 530am and started Hiking just after 6am. Climbed out of Sonora Pass about 1500 ft. The hillside had a lot of pumas and was eroding like volcanic rock. This is were I'm seeimg a plant called a shield plant. It's unusal looking. I first saw one while hiking at Mammoth Lakes area. A lot of jagged formations and sharp deep valleys. Passed several mtn's that were just big piles of rocks broken into blocks. (I have a picture of one) Hiked over several saddles into different drainage basins. The longest one was the E. Fork of the Carson. This is were I met the SOBO. A young guy out camping and fishing headed south toward Yosemite. Headed up and out and over toward Boulder Lake and Golden Lake. This is were there are several old moranes left over by the glasiers. They were several hundred feet high green and covered with wildflowers. Up and over each. Traversed over a ridge and hiked down into the Wolf Creek drainage. Camped at the east fork Wolf Creek. Got in early and washed up and got clothes clean. They dry fast in the sun. No Cell
