Flying Home!!!

I couldn't sleep much last night, because I was so anxious to get home and
see my family & friends. I had pretty much packed up last night, so there
wasn't much to do this morning, but enjoy some coffee and talk to Slider &

Since we stayed at a Best Western last night, there was an All You Can Eat
breakfast which I mostly skipped. I'm trying to control myself when it
comes to eating, since I'm finished hiking. I've already gained some
weight, because the two weeks before starting the 'Mop Up' tour. Hanging
around with Slider the last few days hasn't helped much either, because he
eats the same on or off the trail.

Dropped off the albotrose (rental car) at the airport & hopped on the
shuttle. This didn't leave much time for goodbyes which is probably a good
thing. I don't think Slider or JB are good at them, so I just shook their
hands and told them I hope to see them again in life - on or off the trail.

I called Jamie to let her know that I had made it to the airport in
Sacramento on time & safely. She told me that there was a cyclocross race
at Lake Bryan this Saturday in addition to the mountain bike race on Sunday.
More opportunities to suffer & shame myself. I plan on doing Yeticross
tomorrow too. In a few weeks I should be back in cycling shape.

I surprised that so far it hasn't been too much of a shock returning to
normal life. I changed my watch & phone back to Central time so it doesn't
seem as long until I get home.

Jamie, Sean, & Emily where there at the airport to welcome me back. I feels
good to be home. It may be a while until I update the rest of my journals.
Congrats & Good Luck to the Class of 2008!
