Hello and Welcome
Many years ago, compliments of the US Navy, I spent some considerable time with four steel walls, dials, gauges and extensive periods of boredom. But on one occasion I had just read a book by Eric Ryback, or maybe it was the National Geographic magazine, concerning a designated trail that spanned the width of our nation. It fired my attention and I made a list during the course of those long days detailing what I would take when I, too, had the free time to experience such an adventure. That I had never backpacked before in my life and had zero knowledge didn't seem an obstacle.
I still have that list, and finally it seems we are going to make this idea happen. That we are excited is an understatement.
Our contact information is on post 3 or 4; mail pickup towns are also listed on the Planner page.

You're welcome to come along.
PS: I can tell you that about all that old list is good for is some laughs now, and that very, very few things on that original list will make the current trip. But the idea was the important thing: it still is. We're off.
