Lake Morena, our starting point

Mt. Laguna

We hiked a little further than expected today, in order to make it to Mt. Laguna before the post office closed at 4pm - in order to pick up our resupply box. Turns out they wouldn't open until noon the next day. So it was a fast hike, but we made it, with a half hour to spare. Kim's getting sick, but she still put in a 22 mile day - not bad!

So we took it easy and stayed in the lodge at Mt. Laguna, even though we were expecting to camp out that night. Two showers in two days - this thru-hiking thing is feeling a little too luxurious!

Something I'd never seen before - while we were sitting on the porch at the Mt. Laguna store, a guy started playing a didgeridoo made out of a yucca flower stalk. I guess you make do with what you have in the desert.....
